Sanitary stainless steel fabrication
Washdown Electrical Enclosures in 304 and 316L Stainless Steel
Built for food processing, pharmaceutical, and brewing environments where high-pressure washdowns are part of daily operations. Enclosuremfg fabricates stainless steel enclosures with drainage-conscious geometry, hygienic weld finishing, and seals designed for repeated chemical exposure.
- 304 and 316L stainless steel options
- Sloped covers to direct washdown water
- Radiused transitions and flush-finished welds
- Chemical-resistant silicone gasket options
Designed for cleanability and corrosion resistance
Material selection, drainage details, surface preparation, and gasket fit are considered together for demanding washdown applications.
304 / 316L
Stainless steel sheet grades with mill certificates and incoming inspection.
Up to 6 m
CNC press brake capacity for long panels and consistent flange angles.
4–6 weeks
Typical lead time from approved drawings, depending on project requirements.
Hygienic design details
Reduce water retention and contamination risks
Washdown-ready construction focuses on the surfaces and transitions where water, cleaning agents, and residue can collect.
Sloped top covers
Angled roof geometry directs water away from the enclosure top instead of allowing it to pool.
Radiused internal corners
Transitions are formed by press brake or finished by hand grinding to avoid sharp, hard-to-clean internal corners.
Flush-finished weld seams
Welds are ground flush and polished to eliminate crevices and support thorough cleaning.
Silicone gasket sealing
Silicone gaskets selected for repeated chemical exposure help maintain seal integrity through thermal cycling.
Material selection
Choose the grade for your cleaning environment
Both grades are supplied with mill certificates and verified during incoming inspection. Selection depends on the exposure conditions and cleaning chemistry at your facility.
General washdown
304 stainless steel
A suitable option for many indoor food and beverage production lines.
More demanding chemistry
316L stainless steel
Molybdenum supports improved resistance to chlorides and acids commonly found in cleaning agents.
In-house production
Capabilities built around repeatable fabrication
A single-facility workflow keeps cutting, forming, welding, finishing, and inspection connected through production.
Laser cutting and forming
Three fiber laser centers cut stainless sheet up to 20 mm thick. Five CNC press brakes handle multi-axis bends on panels up to 6 m long, maintaining consistent flange angles across production runs of 10 to 300 units.
Welding and surface preparation
Twenty-four welding stations include handheld laser welders and TIG equipment. Low-heat laser welding helps minimize distortion on thin 316L panels. Internal seams receive full-penetration TIG passes followed by pickling and passivation.
Finishing options
Triangular belt grinders produce uniform #4 finishes on visible surfaces. For projects requiring color coding or additional abrasion resistance, the 2500 × 6000 mm coating line can apply FDA-compliant epoxy or polyester powders. Masking fixtures protect gasket surfaces and mounting holes.
Many washdown enclosures remain uncoated; finish requirements can be specified during quotation.
6
Dedicated QA staff
First-article dimensional inspection, weld visual review, and 100% gasket compression testing before shipment.
10–300
Production run capability
Repeatable bends support production runs, with common releases ranging from 15 to 250 enclosures.
2 business days
Drawing review
Engineering reviews submitted drawings for design-for-manufacturing adjustments.
Project planning
Production volumes and lead times
Typical orders cover 15 to 250 enclosures per release. Annual blanket agreements are common among packaging machinery builders and brewery integrators. Standard lead time is 4–6 weeks from approved drawings.
The single-facility workflow avoids external coating or welding subcontractors. Final timing depends on approved specifications and order requirements.
