Custom sheet metal manufacturing

Custom NEMA 13 Enclosures for CNC and Industrial Controls

Protect control panels and electrical components from shop-floor dust, oil, and coolant exposure with a custom-fabricated enclosure from Enclosuremfg. Get engineering support from design review through production.

Built on the NEMA 12 approach to dust and oil protection, NEMA 13 designs address indoor exposure to circulating dust, spraying water, oil, and non-corrosive coolants. For CNC machine panels, we can evaluate oil- and chemical-resistant foam gaskets against your actual operating fluids.

Send drawings or a concept for an RFQ. We can review layout, fabrication, sealing, finish, and quantity before quoting.

Application and sealing

Made for shop-floor oil and coolant exposure

NEMA 13 enclosures are used indoors where protection is needed against circulating dust, spraying water, oil, and non-corrosive coolants. They are a common choice for machine control panels exposed to routine shop-floor fluids.

High-pressure spray needs specific review

A NEMA 13 rating alone does not establish protection against direct, forceful coolant impact or high-speed jets. Share spray direction, pressure, distance, and duty cycle so the design and applicable verification requirements can be reviewed. Do not assume routine spray and high-pressure jet exposure are equivalent.

Foam gasket evaluation

Oil- and chemical-resistant foam gasket materials can be incorporated when appropriate. Compatibility depends on the exact coolant, lubricant, cleaning agent, concentration, temperature, and exposure duration.

Door and entry details

We review door overlap, gasket contact surfaces, seams, fasteners, mounting details, and cable entries as part of the sealing approach.

Send fluid details, not assumptions

Include fluid product names or safety data sheets where available, plus whether exposure is occasional splash, repeated spray, or direct impact. This helps us evaluate a proposed seal against the real environment.

Engineering and production

Fabrication built around your panel and machine

Our 50-person manufacturing team includes five mechanical and manufacturing engineers and six QA/QC specialists. Engineering review and quality checkpoints support the work alongside in-house fabrication.

Custom components and assemblies

  • Laser-cut panels, doors, mounting plates, and openings
  • CNC-formed bodies, covers, brackets, and internal supports
  • Automated installation of PEM nuts, studs, and standoffs
  • Welded assemblies and structural frames
  • Deburred, brushed, or powder-coated surfaces
  • Components sized for customer-supplied hardware and electrical layouts

Design for manufacturability

Dimensional control for CNC panels

Our engineers review 3D CAD and fabrication details to identify bend-line conflicts, hardware access issues, interference around mounted components, and tolerance-sensitive interfaces before parts are released.

For formed or welded control enclosures, process selection depends on the design. Laser welding can limit heat input on suitable joints and visible surfaces; TIG is available for stainless steel work, while MIG supports structural fabrication. Selection depends on material, joint design, strength, and appearance.

First-article inspection and production checks help verify agreed requirements. For repeat orders, controlled drawings and inspection criteria provide a reference for batch consistency.

Details we can review

  • Door overlap and gasket contact surfaces
  • Display, button, connector, and cable gland cutouts
  • Mounting plate and internal hardware positions
  • Weld locations and cosmetic faces sensitive to distortion
  • Powder coating and surface preparation requirements
  • Stainless steel brushing or specified finishes

Our in-house 2500 × 6000 mm powder coating line keeps finishing within the production workflow, reducing reliance on outside finishing schedules and supporting clearer coordination.

Suitable projects and production volumes

Our typical work suits high-mix, low-to-medium-volume manufacturing, including orders of approximately 10 to 500 units and recurring supply programs.

If your application requires verified high-pressure jet protection, outdoor weather exposure, or a specific NEMA/IP test result, include that requirement in your inquiry. A custom build is not automatically certified; the design and verification path must match the specification.
