Custom industrial sheet metal fabrication

Custom NEMA 6 Enclosures for Mining, Quarry & Flood-Prone Sites

Enclosuremfg manufactures custom sheet metal enclosures and assemblies for industrial equipment. For mining, quarry, and flood-exposed applications, we can fabricate to designs featuring reinforced wall panels and a continuous sealing path—helping protect equipment during specified, limited-depth temporary immersion when the completed enclosure is properly designed and validated.

Engineering review, cutting, forming, welding, hardware insertion, and powder coating are handled in-house. We support high-mix, low-to-medium volume production, typically 10–500 units per batch, as well as recurring supply programs.

Understand the requirement

What NEMA 6 means for your enclosure project

NEMA 6 is associated with protection against hose-directed water and temporary, limited-depth submersion. It can be relevant to mining and quarry equipment exposed to washdown, runoff, or short-term flooding.

Protection depends on the entire enclosure design and tested configuration. Seams, doors, gaskets, cable entries, hardware, and assembly details all matter. We fabricate to your approved design and can identify manufacturing details that may affect fit and sealing; we do not claim a NEMA rating without the required design validation and testing.

For a useful review, specify expected water depth and duration, washdown conditions, installation orientation, and any applicable certification or test requirements.

Integrated production

Fabrication capabilities for custom NEMA 6 enclosures

Keeping key operations under one roof reduces handoffs between fabricators and coaters, with fewer transfer points where parts can be delayed, damaged, or handled to different process standards.

Build for exposure and assembly

Structural panels and continuous sealing details

Mining, quarry, and flood-exposed equipment may require reinforced wall panels and a continuous sealing path around doors or access covers. We can fabricate formed panels, welded structures, mounting features, and gasket lands to your specified design.

Engineers review 3D CAD and fabrication details for bend allowances, part fit, access, and assembly sequence. Early review can flag issues such as a bend interfering with a door flange or a weld making a gasket surface difficult to finish.

A continuous seal is an assembly outcome

Gasket specification and compression, closure hardware, joint geometry, cable entries, and installation all affect sealing. Include these requirements in your RFQ so manufacturing features and inspection needs can be identified.

Fabrication parameters

  • Typical batch size: 10–500 units; recurring production programs supported
  • Maximum listed coating envelope: 2500 × 6000 mm
  • Heavy-duty assembly platforms: up to 2000 × 6000 mm
  • Fiber laser sources: 12 kW and 6 kW
  • Bending equipment: OG35, OG100, and OG200 machines
  • Welding processes: laser, MIG, TIG, and cold welding
  • Custom sheet metal parts, enclosures, and welded assemblies

Final dimensions, materials, thicknesses, tolerances, and water-exposure conditions depend on the project design and must be confirmed during engineering review.

Design for manufacturability

DFM, dimensional control, and inspection

Our five-person engineering team reviews drawings and CAD models for manufacturability, including sheet metal unfolding, bend-line corrections, structural detailing, and potential part interference.

A six-person QA/QC team supports a closed-loop process covering incoming material checks, in-process inspections, first-article inspection, and pre-shipment checks. Inspection requirements can be aligned with your drawings and quality plan. Where sealing matters, define inspection points for critical dimensions, surface conditions, and assembly interfaces before production.

Match construction to site conditions

  • Temporary immersion or washdown: Provide expected water depth, duration, and cleaning method; confirm the complete enclosure's rating requirements and validation plan.
  • Outdoor mine or quarry installation: Specify corrosion exposure, temperature range, UV exposure, and required coating or material system.
  • Large machinery housings: Share dimensions and lifting or mounting points early. Large-format coating and 6-meter platforms may support sizable assemblies, subject to project review.
  • Electrical or control equipment: Identify cable entries, mounting patterns, thermal requirements, and service access.
  • Welded structural panels: State appearance requirements and critical sealing surfaces for review of welding and finishing sequences.

Powder coating is available in-house, but the specification should suit the service environment and be agreed before quotation. Coating alone does not establish water-ingress protection or certify an enclosure rating.
