Understand the requirement

What IP57 means for your project

IP57 is an ingress protection rating under IEC 60529. The first digit, 5, indicates dust protection; the second digit, 7, relates to temporary immersion under specified test conditions. The rating depends on the complete enclosure design and validation—not on the sheet metal shell alone.

Consider the complete assembly

Seams, doors, access panels, cable entries, fasteners and gasket compression can all affect water ingress.

Define exposure conditions

For rainwater pooling or short-term immersion, share expected water depth, exposure time, orientation and operating conditions.

Final IP claims should be confirmed through appropriate testing of the finished assembly. A fabrication description alone does not prove an IP57 rating.

For temporary flood exposure

Welded housings for special engineering pits

Where stormwater may cause short periods of partial submersion, we can fabricate welded sheet metal housings with careful attention to seam continuity and fit-up.

We can work toward continuous, carefully controlled weld seams without visible pinholes, paired with a high-compression sealing flange and a suitable gasket arrangement. The required performance must be specified and verified on the finished enclosure.

Details that work together to help prevent leakage

Welded shell

Seam continuity and fit-up, with process selected for material, thickness, joint design and structural or cosmetic requirements.

Sealing flange

High-compression flange and suitable gasket arrangement, considered alongside flange flatness and door geometry.

Interface details

Fastener spacing, compression stops, cable entries and access-panel design all affect sealing performance.

Verification plan

Agree exposure conditions and acceptance criteria, then validate the finished enclosure using the applicable test method.

Please provide expected water depth, exposure time, orientation, gasket material requirements and any test protocol. A well-welded shell alone cannot prevent leakage if the access interface is poorly designed.

Manufacturing capabilities

A fabrication line under one roof

Our facility handles compact electrical boxes and large machinery housings. Keeping cutting, forming, joining and finishing in-house helps coordinate operations and reduces reliance on outside suppliers for key production steps.

Laser cutting & forming

Three fiber laser cutting machines with 12kW and 6kW sources, plus five CNC press brakes for compact parts, heavy panels and multi-stage bends.

Joining & hardware

Handheld laser, MIG, TIG and cold-welding resources, along with automated insertion and tapping equipment.

Large assemblies

Assembly platforms up to 2000 × 6000 mm support large frames and cabinets; internal handling equipment accommodates heavy assemblies and packed goods.

Finishing

An automated 2500 × 6000 mm powder coating line includes pretreatment, powder application and thermal curing. Stainless steel resources support brushed and satin finishes, weld blending and deburring.

Engineering & quality

Review manufacturability before production

Our five mechanical and manufacturing engineers can review supplied 3D CAD and drawings for bend allowances, forming access, hardware locations, weld access and assembly clearances. This is especially useful for multiple bends, large panels, tight dimensional relationships and door-and-flange interfaces.

We can flag details that may create interference or complicate repeatable fabrication, then discuss practical adjustments with your engineering team. Final design authority remains with the customer unless revisions are specifically approved.

Quality checks across production

Six QA/QC specialists support incoming material verification, in-process checks, first-article review and pre-shipment inspection.

Identify critical-to-function features early:

  • Mounting-hole locations and hardware position
  • Flange flatness, door alignment and sealing surfaces
  • Applicable tolerances, inspection expectations and documentation

Share these requirements in your RFQ so they can be assessed during quotation.

Built around your application

Select construction for the conditions and verification method

We serve industrial equipment builders, energy and power infrastructure suppliers, and field automation integrators. Typical projects include machinery housings, electrical cabinets, battery storage equipment enclosures, inverter and charging equipment housings, and outdoor control cabinets.

Temporary water exposure+

Define depth and duration, then review weld continuity, door or cover interfaces, gasket compression, cable entries and fastener spacing.

Outdoor electrical equipment+

Specify the required ingress protection, coating system, material and any UV or corrosion considerations.

Machinery and production equipment+

Provide panel interfaces, service access, mounting points, ventilation requirements and assembly clearances.

Large cabinets and machine housings+

Share overall dimensions, panel breakdown and lifting or handling requirements so we can assess forming, fixturing and transport.

Our engineers can review manufacturing suitability and raise design questions. Rating requirements and acceptance criteria should be agreed before production and validated using the applicable test method.
