In-house FIPFG sealing

CNC Automated PU Foaming Gasket Services for Industrial Enclosures

Enclosuremfg uses automated Formed-In-Place Foam Gasket (FIPFG) technology to create consistent, high-performance seals for electrical, telecommunication, and machinery housings. Protect enclosure integrity with a seamless polyurethane or silicone foam gasket designed for demanding IP55–IP68 applications.

A continuous seal, formed directly on your enclosure

CNC-controlled application creates a consistent gasket profile with seamless corners and reliable compression recovery.

Why sealing method matters

Avoid the weak points of manually applied gaskets

Traditional adhesive-backed rubber or EPDM strips can compromise enclosure protection over time, particularly where corners, repeated compression, and environmental exposure challenge the seal.

Joined corners

Hand-cut joints at 90-degree corners can leave gaps and discontinuities that become leak paths.

Adhesive degradation

UV exposure, thermal cycling, and weathering can dry out adhesives, causing strips to peel or shift.

Loss of recovery

Repeated door cycles can reduce a standard strip’s rebound, weakening compression and potentially compromising the IP rating.

Precision-controlled sealing

FIPFG forms a continuous gasket on the part

Enclosuremfg applies polyurethane foam directly to an enclosure frame or door panel using automated CNC dispensing. The bead follows the component geometry to create a seamless, closed-cell gasket.

Controlled viscosity, expansion rate, and bead dimensions help achieve the compression profile required for your application. Silicone foaming gasket options can also be evaluated for project requirements.

Seamless corners

A CNC-controlled nozzle applies a uniform, continuous bead without the joints created by manual cutting and assembly.

Strong compression recovery

Elastic foam is engineered to recover after compression, supporting a dependable seal through repeated enclosure opening and closing.

Bonded to the coated surface

Chemical and mechanical bonding to the powder-coated substrate helps prevent gasket detachment during operation and maintenance.

Protection matched to the application

Engineering for IP55 to IP68 requirements

FIPFG process parameters are calibrated to the component geometry and required compression levels, supporting a range of environmental protection applications.

IP55 / IP56

Dust protection and resistance to high-pressure water jets for indoor factory environments.

IP66 / IP67

For outdoor equipment exposed to heavy rain, washdown procedures, or temporary submersion.

IP68

Specialized sealing configurations for full-immersion requirements in critical infrastructure.

Integrated production workflow

From design review to validated seal

FIPFG production operates alongside 12kW fiber laser cutting and 2500 × 6000 mm powder coating lines. Keeping these processes in-house reduces outsourcing logistics risks and supports a more integrated enclosure workflow.

  1. 01 / DFM review

    Plan the gasket path

Engineering reviews CAD files and recommends a groove design or flat-surface bonding path.

  2. 02 / Preparation

    Prepare the substrate

Precise powder coating prepares the surface for reliable foam adhesion.

  3. 03 / Dispensing

    Apply with CNC control

Automated application delivers consistent sealing characteristics across batches from 10 to 500+ units.

  4. 04 / Validation

    Inspect each batch

A six-person QA/QC department performs compression testing and visual inspection to verify seal consistency.

Material and profile selection

Choose a seal for your operating conditions

Our technical team works with your R&D staff to select material hardness (Shore OO) and chemical resistance according to the application environment.

Standard PU foam +

A general-purpose sealing option for indoor and sheltered outdoor applications.

High-temperature and chemical-resistant options +

Formulations can be evaluated for environments involving oils, solvents, or extreme thermal fluctuations found in heavy industrial machinery.

Low-compression-force profiles +

Recommended for large-format enclosure doors where locking mechanism pressure is limited.

Facility capabilities

A coordinated route from raw metal to sealed assembly

Heavy-duty 6-meter fabrication platforms and internal material handling support large-scale industrial frames and cabinets within one facility. Integrated production takes projects from raw metal plate through fabrication, powder coating, and sealing to a ready-to-assemble unit—without delays from a fragmented supply chain.
