Custom industrial enclosures

Custom NEMA 4 Junction Boxes

Compact sheet metal junction boxes designed around your dimensions, installation, and washdown requirements. Share your drawings and operating conditions with Enclosuremfg for an engineering review before production.

A compact sealing approach for direct water-jet cleaning

For small junction boxes that need hose-down access, we can develop a one-piece, automatically dispensed polyurethane foam-in-place gasket with stainless steel quick-release fastening hardware. Final protection depends on the complete enclosure design and its required verification.

Application fit

Built around your enclosure requirements

A NEMA 4 junction box is commonly specified for indoor or outdoor locations where protection against windblown dust, rain, splashing water, and hose-directed water is needed. Protection depends on the complete enclosure construction and closure—not simply its material or coating.

Tell us where the box will be installed, how it will be cleaned, and what must fit inside. We can review the layout, closure arrangement, finish, and production details against your application.

Industrial machinery

Junctions for automation equipment and machine installations.

Power and energy

Enclosures for power distribution, control systems, and battery infrastructure.

Telecom and field systems

Protection for telecom and field automation installations.

OEM requirements

Project-specific dimensions, mounting, cable entries, and internal clearances.

Compact sealing and access

Coordinate gasket, cover, and fasteners as one design

For compact boxes subject to hose-down cleaning, we can review a continuous foam-in-place polyurethane gasket around the cover perimeter. A one-piece gasket can help reduce discontinuities at corners compared with separate segments, subject to enclosure geometry and process requirements.

01 / Continuous perimeter seal

Automatic polyurethane foam-in-place

A one-piece gasket is automatically dispensed to suit the cover perimeter. Its suitability depends on the enclosure geometry, process requirements, and the intended verification plan.

02 / Serviceable closure

Stainless steel quick-release bolts

Quick-release hardware can be considered when frequent access and corrosion resistance matter. We assess fastening arrangement, compression, cover stiffness, and service access together.

A gasket alone cannot ensure a specific enclosure rating. Rating claims should be confirmed through the required testing or certification process for the finished enclosure.

In-house capabilities

Sheet metal production under one roof

Our engineering team supports design-for-manufacturing review, sheet metal unfolding, bend details, and structural considerations. Integrated fabrication and finishing help coordinate production without relying on separate coating subcontractors.

Laser cutting

Three fiber laser cutting machines, including 12 kW and 6 kW systems, for sheet metal profiling.

CNC bending

Five press brakes across multiple tonnage ranges for panels, covers, and formed components.

Hardware installation

Automated clinching for PEM nuts, studs, and standoffs, plus drilling and tapping capacity.

Welding and assembly

Laser, MIG, and TIG welding options, with fixtures and platforms for larger assemblies.

Finishing and coating

Brushed stainless steel finishing and weld-bead blending where specified, plus an in-house 2500 × 6000 mm powder coating and curing line.

Our capacity supports high-mix, low-to-medium-volume production, typically in batches of 10 to 500 units, as well as recurring supply programs.

Engineering and quality

Review the details before production

We can review 2D drawings, 3D CAD files, or an initial concept for manufacturability and assembly concerns, including bend allowances, hole and hardware locations, cover fit, welding sequence, and coating considerations.

Project quality checks

  • Incoming material verification
  • In-process checks and first-article inspection
  • Pre-shipment inspection
  • Agreed scope for dimensional records, special tests, or rating verification

Inspection scope should be agreed for each project, particularly when special records, tests, or enclosure rating verification are required.

Is a custom NEMA 4 junction box right for your project?

A custom enclosure may suit your project when standard boxes do not meet requirements for:

  • Nonstandard dimensions, mounting patterns, or internal clearances
  • Specific material, finish, or color requirements
  • Cable-entry locations or hardware integration
  • Recurring production in controlled batch quantities
  • Direct water-jet exposure that calls for a project-specific sealing review

If your application involves high-pressure cleaning, immersion, corrosive chemicals, or conditions beyond the specified rating, include that information in your inquiry. We can review the design requirements, but the appropriate rating and validation method must be established for the complete enclosure.

Send drawings or CAD files, target quantity, material preference, finish, and required protection level. If drawings are not ready, share approximate dimensions, installation environment, cable-entry needs, and cleaning method. We’ll review the available information and follow up about anything needed for a practical quotation.
